Rules and Regulations for the Dragon Trail Race (100km, 3-Stage) in Bhutan
Introduction
Welcome to the Dragon Trail Race, a unique and challenging 100km running event held over three stages in the stunning landscapes of Bhutan. This race is designed for ultra-distance runners seeking an adventure that combines endurance, strategy, and the beauty of nature. To ensure a safe, fair, and enjoyable experience for all participants, we have established the following rules and regulations. All runners must familiarize themselves with these guidelines prior to the event.

Rules & Regulation
1.Eligibility:
•Participants must be at least 18 years old on the day of the race.
•Runners must have prior experience in ultra-distance races or demonstrate adequate training and fitness levels.
2.Registration:
•All participants must register online before the registration deadline.
•Registration is non-transferable and non-refundable.
•A confirmation email will be sent upon successful registration.
3.Race Bibs:
•Each participant will receive a race bib, which must be worn visibly on the front of the torso at all times during all stages of the race.
•Altering or transferring race bibs is strictly prohibited.
4.Race Format:
•The Dragon Trail Race consists of three stages, totaling 100km. Each stage will vary in distance and terrain.
•Participants must complete each stage to qualify for the overall results.
5.Mandatory Gear:
•Participants must carry mandatory gear throughout the race, including but not limited to:
•A hydration system (water bottles or hydration packs)
•Energy gels or food
•A fully charged mobile phone
•A whistle
•A headlamp or flashlight (if running after dark)
•A first aid kit
•A thermal blanket
•Weather-appropriate clothing
•Gear checks may be
conducted at the start and along the course.
Race Course
1.Course Description:
•The race will follow a marked trail course through diverse terrains, including mountains, forests, and rural paths.
•Each stage will have designated start and finish lines.
2.Checkpoints:
•There will be several checkpoints along each stage where runners can access water, food, and medical assistance.
•Participants must check in at each checkpoint to ensure their safety and progress.
3.Cut-off Times:
•Each stage will have specific cut-off times. Runners must adhere to these times to continue in the race.
•Failure to meet cut-off times will result in disqualification from that stage and the overall race.
Conduct During the Race
1.Fair Play:
•All participants are expected to compete fairly and uphold the integrity of the event.
•Cheating, including using unauthorized aids or shortcuts, is strictly prohibited.
2.Health and Safety:
•Runners should assess their health and fitness levels before participating.
•It is recommended to consult a medical professional if unsure about participation.
•In case of an emergency, runners should alert race officials or medical personnel on the course.
3.Environmental Responsibility:
•Participants are encouraged to minimize waste and respect Bhutan’s natural beauty.
•Littering along the course is strictly prohibited; runners must dispose of trash in designated receptacles.
Post-Race Regulations
1.Results:
•Official race results will be posted on the event website within 24-48 hours after the completion of the final stage.
•Participants may dispute results by submitting a formal request within 48 hours of posting.
2.Awards:
•Awards will be given to the top finishers in categories of male and female, based on overall performance across all three stages.
•Participants must be present at the awards ceremony to receive their trophy.
3.Photography and Media:
•By participating in the event, runners grant permission for their images and videos to be used for promotional purposes.
•Professional photographers will be present; runners are encouraged to pose for photos.
Code of Conduct
1.Respect for Others:
•Runners must show respect and courtesy towards fellow participants, volunteers, and event staff.
•Disruptive or unsportsmanlike behavior will not be tolerated.
2.Support for Fellow Runners:
•Participants are encouraged to support fellow runners. If a runner is in distress, please assist them and notify race officials.
Disqualification
Participants may be disqualified for the following reasons:
•Failure to adhere to race rules and regulations.
•Un sports man like conduct or harassment of other participants.
•Altering or transferring race bibs.
•Not completing the race course as marked.
•Not carrying mandatory gear.
